Primary candidates announced

Qualifying ended today for all nine places on the Shelby County Commission, Property Tax Commissioner and one place on the Shelby County Board of Education.
Primary elections will be held Tuesday, June 3, prior to November’s general elections.
Qualified candidates include:
– Property Tax Commissioner: Don Armstrong (R)
– County Commission, District 1: Corley Ellis (R), Ken Wilder (R)
– County Commission, District 2: Earl Cunningham (R), Mike Kent (R), Tommy Edwards (R)
– County Commission, District 3: Jimmy W. Bice (R), Jon Parker (R)
– County Commission, District 4: Daniel M. Acker (R)
– County Commission, District 5: Joel Bearden (R)
– County Commission, District 6: Cynthia A. Bell (D), Larry S. Dillard (R)
– County Commission, District 7: Lindsey Allison (R)
– County Commission, District 8: Joe Sarver (R), Jonathan Spann (R), Anne Glass (R), Rick Shepherd (R)
– County Commission, District 9: Robbie Hayes (R), Carolyn R. Shields (D)
