Calera Orthodontics is in the final stages of building a new, expanded office space and adding a new team member.

The new space is still located in the Calera Dental Center at 101 Highway 87, just south of the I-65 Shelby County Airport Exit. It features expanded patient areas and today’s most advanced technology.

The new team member joining doctors Deborah Sema, DMD, MS and Chris Vlachos, DMD, MS is Dr. Andre Ferreira, DDS, DMD.

Ferreira

holds dental degrees (DDS and DMD) from Brazil and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry and a specialty certificate and masters degree in Orthodontics at UAB (1997). He is also an assistant professor at the UAB Orthodontic Graduate Clinic and has published several papers and book chapters.

He lectures nationally and internationally on the most current topics and techniques in the field of orthodontics. He plans to continue teaching part-time at UAB when not working
