FROM STAFF REPORTS
Pelham native Jacob Kendall will perform a concert of contemporary Christian music at Crosscreek Baptist Church in Pelham May 2 at 7 p.m.
The concert will raise awareness of Kendall’s upcoming summer mission work through Student.Go, a program providing missions opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Kendall will be part of a 12-student team that will travel to Washington, D.C., Romania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Haiti, New York City and Mexico City to experience ministries that address hunger, education, environmental sustainability, HIV/AIDS and other diseases. Students will receive a challenge grant to begin tangible efforts to address the issues when they return.
Friends from Crosscreek, Westwood and Sunrise Baptist churches in Alabaster, and Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, as well as students from the University of Alabama, Huntingdon College and Thompson High School will perform with Kendall.
Kendall is a 2007 graduate of Huntingdon College and now teaches science and Spanish at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Montgomery. He is the son of Janet and Ron Kendall of Pelham and a member of Crosscreek Baptist.
The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.
