Mr. and Mrs. William Philip Lawler Sr. of Montevallo are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Ann Lawler, to Lance Lively Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harold Edwards of Louisville, Ky.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lister Lawler Jr. of Montevallo and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jackson Burrow Jr. of Milan, Tenn.
Miss Lawler graduated from Shelby Academy in Montevallo and then attended Samford University in Birmingham, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She earned a bachelor’s degree and certification in Child Life Therapy from Auburn University and is now employed with Salon U in Homewood as a licensed cosmetologist.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hurst Edwards of Glasgow, Ky. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Merle Lively of Horse Cave, Ky. Mr. Edwards is a graduate of Male High School in Louisville, Ky. He attended Samford University in Birmingham, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management in 2004 and is currently employed with Jemison Demsey Metals in Birmingham.
A May 24, 2008, wedding is planned at 6:30 p.m. in Montevallo at Southern Magnolia at Wilderwood Farms.
