Calera students take on Academic Challenge

Calera High School students recently traveled to Wallace Community College in Selma to participate in the Academic Challenge for Excellence.
Garrett Hibbard and Leah Cofer represented Calera in the Grammar and Composition categories.
Sarah Hutto, Jeremy Leskovisek and Bailey Seabury’s team won second place in the Information Technology category.
Krista Brown, Loryn Patterson and Natalie McRee participated in the Algebra I contest, while Clay Cawthon, Aileen Cain and Logan Petersen represented Calera for the Geometry competition.
The Algebra II team of Chris McKinney, Jasmine Holloway and Alexandra Hawkins won first place in their category.
The Comprehensive Math team of Whitney Waycaster, Lawrence Oldham and Brad McGlawn also won first place team.
Brad had the second-highest individual score, and Whitney won the trophy for first place individual in the Comprehensive Math competition
