Florence McElroy Nash

Graveside service for Florence Nash, 93, of Montevallo, was held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2008, at Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation was held Sunday, April 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Shelby Memory Chapel.

Mrs. Nash, who died peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at a local nursing home in Sylacauga, was born on Oct. 21, 1914 at Six Mile in Bibb County. She was the last to die of her seven siblings. She married Chelse Grady Nash in May 1936 and bore four children. She worked most of her life and after retirement, worked for many years as a R.S.V.P. volunteer. She was a life-long Baptist.

She is survived by her children, Wayne A. (Rosemary) Nash, Chelse L. (Betty) Nash, Lynn N. (David) Gravette, Bennie V. Nash; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
