Mutual Savings Credit Union donates $20,000 in scholarships

Mutual Savings Credit Union recently held its 69th-annual meeting at the Wynfrey Hotel and announced that $20,000 in scholarships will be presented by the company.

CEO Dale Dalbey addressed the members in attendance and also presented scholarships to 18 high school seniors. The scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.

Walter Turner II was awarded the $5,000 William Freeze Scholarship, which is named after and honors former Mutual Savings CEO Bill Freeze.

Walter will graduate from Thompson High School in May, and he will attend Samford University in the fall. He has a 4.5 GPA and scored a 29 on his ACT
