Dr. John Douglas (J.D.) Shugrue, son of Pat and Sharon Shugrue of Columbiana, graduated May 18 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School.

Following a three-year residency in family practice at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Dr. Shugrue currently plans to return to Columbiana to begin his medical career.
