Jacob Wooten of Alabaster has been accepted into the University Honors Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He is the son of John and Donna Wooten of Alabaster 35007.

The program immerses students in a curriculum that focuses on a yearly thematic and invites students to form close relationships with faculty. Wooten is graduating from Thompson High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society. At UAB, he will major in math and music
