Crocker named to Super All-State team

Pelham third baseman Christin Crocker added another honor to her resume this week by being named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Super All-State Softball Team.

Crocker, who had 13 home runs for the season, was a finalist for the Miss Softball honor that was won by Hueytown pitcher Lindsey Dunlap. Crocker was previously named the Shelby County Reporter’s Player of the Year. Her head coach, Amy Sullivan, was named the Class 6A Coach of the Year.

Joining Crocker on the Class 6A All-State team were Oak Mountain outfielder Jessica Cooley and Pelham pitcher/first baseman Trish Zettler. Kelsey Dennis, a Pelham pitcher, received honorable mention honors.

Montevallo pitcher Laci Hochstrasser and outfielder Whitney Farrington were named to the Class 3A All-State team.

Cornerstone Christian pitcher Chelsea Dunnaway, who led her team to its second-straight AISA Class 1A state championship in May, was named to the AISA All-State Team.
