Superior Bank plans to hold an open house at its new Chelsea location June 19-20. The bank recently moved up to the number one spot on Alabama’s list of community-based banks with $3 billion in assets.
The new branch is located at 104 Chelsea Pointe Drive (across from Wal-Mart on Highway 280).
“When we laid out our growth plans for Alabama in 2006, one of our goals was to strategically position branch locations around the greater Birmingham region, which is where we are headquartered,” said Fox deFuniak, Birmingham market president. “We already had a natural corridor on Highway 280 with existing branches in Sylacauga and Childersburg and further expansion down 280 was a part of our growth strategy.”
Over the past year, Superior Bank has opened two new branches along the 280 corridor, with one in Mountain Brook and the most recent on Highway 119 near Greystone.
Jaime Echols has been selected as the branch manager for the new Superior Chelsea office. Echols joined Superior Bank in October of 2007 as the branch manager over Superior Bank’s downtown Birmingham location. Joining Echols is Jane Scott, branch operations manager; Mary Singleton, head teller; Krystle Carden, financial services representative and teller; and Rachel Futral, teller.
The Chelsea branch officially opened May 27 and will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon.
