Man should be charged in honeymoon death, inquest says
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Australian officials recommended Wednesday that a Hoover man face murder charges in the death of his wife, who drowned there while honeymooning in 2003.
An Australian coroner wants David Gabriel “Gabe” Watson to stand trial in the death of Christina “Tina” Thomas Watson.
The recommendation came down during a special inquest this week, The Australian reports. A final ruling is expected Friday.
Mrs. Watson drowned on Oct. 22, 2003, while scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Her death came just 11 days after the couple was married.
Mr. Watson is not in Australia for the hearings and has not been charged with any crime
