McKenzie Britnell of Columbiana is one of three Shelby County residents to receive a received a Pride of Dixie Band scholarship from the University of North Alabama.

Britnell is a graduate of Shelby County High School. She is the daughter of Betsy King and Tim and Pam Britnell and is a sophomore at UNA majoring in Spanish with a minor in marketing.

Aly Smotherman of Montevallo and Kirsten Shaw of Wilsonville also received a Pride of Dixie Band scholarship.
