NORTH SHELBY – The Brook Highland Goody’s began price cuts on merchandise last week in anticipation of the store closing.

Goody’s Family Clothing announced it would shut down the location off of U.S. Hwy. 280, along with four other Alabama stores.

The move is part of the Knoxville-based company’s filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Goody’s operates a total of 69 locations in states across the country.

Workers have been standing outside the store for the past several days with signs advertising up to 40 percent sales
