Midshipman Algernon Blair Voltz III of Birmingham recently returned to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., where he is a student, after spending some months at sea, training aboard U.S. merchant vessels.

Voltz was nominated to attend the academy by Congressman Spencer Bachus.

He is the son of Blair and Rosemary Voltz and is a graduate of Briarwood Christian High School
