Dear Editor,

Well, I just wanted to vent a little bit about how apathetic the Montevallo police dept seems to about thefts in their town.

I had a brand new Yamaha dirt with trailer stolen out of my yard directly across from the Huddle House in broad daylight two weeks ago and the police don&8217;t seem to really care or intend to do anything about it.

I spoke with officer Lovelady with a tip on its whereabouts in Chilton County and his exact response was it&8217;s listed as stolen and &8220;I&8217;m&8221; welcome to go recover it myself.

I mean what are we paying these guys for?

You would have thought they might step up some patrols on my street after the theft but I guess that&8217;s asking too much.

I have heard from numerous long time residents in Montevallo about how inept this police force is and I&8217;m starting to see where their coming from.
