City council members Juanita Champion and Mike Denton were certified as Advanced Certified Municipal Officials on July 22.

To get the designation, municipal officials must complete 80 credit hours of training conducted or endorsed by the Alabama League of Municipalities.

Champion and Denton are part of the 10th graduating class of Advanced Certified Municipal Officials.
