Mayor Joe Fancher cruised to a third term Tuesday, winning 67 percent of the vote.

With unofficial numbers, Fancher gathered 91 votes, to Mickey Henson’s 22 and JoAnn Hamm’s 22.

“You don’t ever get over winning an election. I’m proud,” said Fancher, who has served for mayor eight years and on the town council for 32. “We’ll do everything we can for the people for what little money we have.”

Fancher said one major project will be to improve city water services.

“We’ll definitely work on our water … we’re in good shape now, but it’s getting scarce,” Fancher said.
