Hope soars past Community

Some times a three-week rest isn’t that bad. Hope Christian bounced back from a three-week hiatus Friday to down Community Christian at home, 62-6.
“We were afraid that we were rusty,” head coach John Gordon said. “But we came out quick, and I think we caught them off guard. We kept hitting them with that no huddle offense and pretty much wore them out, I believe.”
Hope (2-1) had not played since beating Eastern Central, 56-14, Aug. 22, because last week’s game at Aaron was rained out. The Eagles will travel to Eastern Central next week for what Gordon hopes will be a closer game.
“I’ve been on both sides now,” Gordon said. “We had to fight and fight and fight. and we were on the opposite side the last few years of where we are now. It’s very nice, but on a blow out either way is not a whole lot of fun.”
