Funeral service for Dovie Elizabeth Nichols, age 94, of Montevallo, will be Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. Dennis Draper, Larry Stone and Jerry Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Montevallo City Cemetery.
Ms. Nichols, who passed away at her home on Sept. 7, 2008, was the oldest member of Aldridge First Baptist Church in Aldridge, Ala.
She was a member there for over 70 years and help to build the church. She was also a Bible school teacher.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann (Dinkum) Barnett of Montevallo; Sisters, Lula Ione Nasworthy of Montevallo and granddaughters, Dian (Grady) Roper of Knoxville, Tenn. and Donna (Jorge) Serrano of Montevallo.
