Alabama Power Co. has announced it will be closing its business office and appliance sales center in Montevallo and relocating to Calera.
The last day of business at the Montevallo office on Main Street will be Nov. 21, said media relations representative Keisa Sharpe.
The Calera office, located on Highway 304, will open Nov. 24. Office hours will be 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Company officials joined Calera officials and employees from Dunn Real Estate Co. and Dunn Building Co. at a groundbreaking ceremony in April.
“We are expecting this to be a positive move for the city of Calera and Alabama Power. It is a growing community, and we have an opportunity to be a part of that growth,” said Debbie Hawkins, area manager for Alabama Power’s Birmingham division.
Hawkins said customers can expect the same level of excellent service at the Calera location. The new office will have customer-friendly features such as a drive-through window for faster service.
Hawkins said it’s all part of Alabama Power’s efforts to “keep customer needs at the forefront.”
Sharpe said customers can leave bill payments in a drop box at the Montevallo office until Dec. 19.
