Inverness Elementary School held their fifth annual Scarecrow Event last week, with plenty of imagination going into the scarecrow creations.

The scarecrows are on the hill in front of the school until Oct. 13, at which point they will be moved to the Birmingham Zoo to be displayed at Boo at the Zoo.

Marcy Faulkner, director of Boo at the Zoo, judged the scarecrows.

Pre-school (3-4 year olds): Eclipse Class for their Pirate Bear

Kindergarten: Mrs. Hill’s Class for their Bee Fairy

First Grade: Mrs. Failla’s Class for their Fabulous Frog Class

Second Grade: Mrs. Crocker’s Class for their Cowboy Scarecrow

Third Grade: Mrs. Bramlett’s Class for their Light-up Lightning Bug
