A Birmingham man faces charges of breaking into a home near Brook Highland Plaza.

Charles Norman Adams III, 25, was arrested Friday and has been charged with burglary and theft of property.

Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies received a call around 9:50 Friday morning about a break-in in the 2000 block of Springfield Loop.

Deputies soon began questioning Adams, who they thought might be a potential witness.

Through questioning, officers determined Adams was actually involved in the burglary. The sheriff’s office said at least one stolen item was recovered, but didn’t say what it was.

Adams is being held in the Shelby County Jail under $30,000 bond.
