Funeral service for Jewel D. Sims, age 85, of Wilsonville, was held Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Trimble and the Rev. Ray Cooper officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Sims, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at a local hospital, was born Aug. 14, 1923 in Tallahassee, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Sims.
She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Sims and Howard Sims; three daughters, Charlotte Landers, Faye Speary, and Carol Johnson; thirteen grandchildren, Twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five nieces and other family and friends.
