A Columbiana truck driver received non-life-threatening injuries in a car accident on I-65 near Cullman Thursday.

John Sturgis, 31, was traveling northbound on I-65 when his fuel tanker crossed the median, overturned and wrecked in the southbound lane at 6:50 p.m. The wreck set off a chain reaction of other accidents.

Both lanes were shut down until State Troopers re-opened the highway today at 12:30 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation.
