A 79-year-old Pelham man died Friday afternoon after a two-car wreck near the Riverchase Galleria.

The accident happened at 12:35 p.m. on Old Montgomery Highway at Riverchase Drive.

William Bentley was transported to the UAB Trauma Center, where he died later Friday afternoon. His wife was also transported to UAB, with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The driver of the second vehicle didn’t need medical attention, authorities said.

Hoover Police continue to investigate the crash.
