Cheramis dance through holiday season

The Vestavia Country Club was the site of this year’s formal Christmas Dinner Dance sponsored by the ladies of the Cheramis Dance Club.
Prior to enjoying a delicious dinner, attendees gathered in the festively-decorated ballroom for cocktails and conversation. Round tables were covered in white linen with red linen napkins accented by individual souvenir candy cane ornaments. The centerpieces at each table were set in candy cane embossed, white oval mini-tubs filled with assorted greenery, red berries and peppermint candy canes.
Later in the evening, Cheramis president Alice Ellison introduced new Cheramis members including Shelby County residents Nancy Coggin of Hoover with Thomas; Betty Womack of Hoover with Lowell; Gay Blalock of Hoover escorted by Sam Marsten; Marilyn Kelly of Calera with Willie Larson; and Betty Rogers of Hoover with John Bosshart. After these new members were presented with roses, the ladies of Cheramis and their escorts enjoyed dancing to the popular Birmingham ballroom dance band, the Tradewinds.
Other Shelby County Cheramis included Rosemary Boatwright of Helena with Olen Boatwright, Cindy Day of Maylene with Jim Day, and Robin Ward with Richard Ward.
