Cornerstone Christian senior outfielder Brittany Duke signed a scholarship Wednesday to play softball at Judson College.

Duke helped lead CCS to the AISA 1A state championship in 2008, while hitting .473 and collecting 25 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

“From the short time I saw her (at her tryout) it looks like she has a lot of ability to help us,” Judson head coach Lee Jones said.

Duke said she talked with NAIA school Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn., but liked the family atmosphere she felt at Judson.

“I like the small atmosphere and figured I could make a lot of close friendships like I have here (at Cornerstone).”

Duke will join former Cornerstone and Montevallo player Hailey Anderson on the team when she enrolls in the fall.

The Judson Eagles are a member of the United States Collegiate Athletics Association.
