Brittany Belser, a junior at Thompson High School and an alum of the Congressional Young Leaders Council, attended the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference in Washington D.C. during inauguration festivities for President Barack Obama.

During the conference, Belser heard such speakers as former Vice President Al Gore, former Secretary of State Colin Powell and Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu.

On Jan. 20, Belser attended the inauguration and, that night, also attended the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference Ball.

The Congressional Young Leaders Council is an organization that offers educational leadership conferences.
