Twenty-nine ink scholarships on Signing Day

Twenty-nine Shelby County athletes signed on the dotted line Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.
Those seniors who signed to play a collegiate sport next season are:
BRIARWOOD – Walker May, football, Vanderbilt; Lindsey Sillers, soccer, Alabama; and Missy Shaw, soccer, Lee University.
OAK MOUNTAIN – George Allers, football, Samford; Peter Boehme, football, Southern Miss.; Kathryn Allison, soccer, Covenant College; Zehra Syed, Mississippi State; Christine Schweer, soccer, Auburn; Chandler Hoffman, soccer, UCLA; Mason Lavallett, soccer, Kings College; Stefan Vaziri, soccer, Northern Illinois; and Louise Gibson, softball, Appalachian State.
PELHAM – Shawn Lynch, football, Navy; Alvin Hines, football, Samford; and Dexter Paschel, football, Jacksonville State.
SHELBY ACADEMY – Bobby Sexton, football, Lambuth University and Brandon Horton, football, Lambuth.
