Procrastinated on planning your Valentine’s Day? A romantic, affordable candlelight dinner at the Calera Waffle House could be your best bet.

The newly-opened restaurant, at 5087 U.S. 31, is serving up a Valentine’s Day special this Saturday night complete with white tablecloths and servers dressed to the nines. Dinnertime is from 5-10 p.m.

“We’re going all out,” said Stacey Rich, restaurant manager. “We’re taking reservations, and we’ve had phone calls all day.”

Rich is adding heart-shaped, lip-shaped and X-and-O-shaped waffles to the menu. If diners aren’t in the mood for waffles, the restaurant is serving a T-bone steak special for $9.99.

Though the restaurant is accepting reservations, Rich said no one will be turned away. As of Friday morning, half of the restaurant’s 32 seats had been reserved.
