The University of Alabama’s hopes at a run in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 tournament fell short Friday, losing to East Carolina, 8-4.

The loss snapped a 14-game win streak. The Frozen Tide also fell, 6-3, in the consolation Saturday to Christopher Newport, 6-3.

Bama finished as the No. 8 ranked team in the South Region.

UA (19-7) will close the season by hosting the inaugural Southeast Hockey Conference Championship at the Pelham Civic Complex, Feb. 27, 28 and March 1.
