University of Montevallo Junior guard Freddy Little was named the Gulf South Conference men’s basketball East Division Player of the Week Wednesday. Little, a native of Raleigh, NC, notched first GSC award after averaging 28 points and six rebounds as the Falcons split a pair of GSC games at home over the weekend. He shot 55.6 percent from the floor and 91.7 percent from the charity stripe.

Little led the Falcons with 16 points and five rebounds in 35 minutes of an 80-67 setback versus North Alabama Thursday. He logged 49 minutes in a double-overtime victory over West Georgia, 103-98, netting 40 points along with seven rebounds and four assists. His point total was the most in a game by any GSC player this season.

Little and the rest of the Falcons (14-12, 5-4 GSC East) will return to action Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. as they travel to the University of West Florida for a GSC East Division match-up.
