Birmingham police say e-mail reports about an Oak Mountain fourth-grader being molested at the Carmike Movie Theatre at the Summit shopping center are false.

After talking with the Summit security staff, theater employees and a pediatrician mentioned in the e-mail, police found no validity to the story.

According to the e-mail, the fourth-grader was molested in the men’s restroom at the Summit. The e-mail also said police told the boy’s family that five similar incidents had been reported at the shopping center.
