Rain in the forecast for Friday evening has postponed some area baseball games, while others will try to beat the rain.

Friday’s Class 6A, Area 10 game between Spain Park and Hoover, originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m., has been moved to Saturday at 3 p.m. If the rain continues Saturday, the game will be played Monday, according to an announcement by Spain Park head coach Will Smith on the team’s Web site.

Chelsea is scheduled to host Shelby County in a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 p.m. According to Chelsea head coach Jason Smith, the two teams will try to play at least the first game, beginning as quickly as possible before 4:30 p.m.
