PYHL players compete at district

Three members of the Pelham Youth Hockey League competed in the district tournament recently.
Wade Orlowski played for the Huntsville-based Thunder 96 AAA team, which lost in the finals to the Washington Little Caps, 8-0.
Alex Dubrinsky, a member of the Southern Flyers 16U AAA travel team from Nashville, fell short in the semifinals in a 3-2 loss to the Panther Alliance.
Daniel Miller’s team, the Huntsville Chargers 18U Midget AA team, failed to advance out of pool play.
The PYHL is affiliated with the Southern Amateur Hockey Association, which represents Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. Two teams, the Atlanta Fire 14UAA and Thunder Hockey 16U AAA will play in the national Championships April 1-5. The Fire will play in Plano, Texas, while Thunder will go to Chesterfield, Mo.
Both teams won their divisions at the District Tournament in Huntsville Mar. 12-15, where over 50 teams from 11 states representing 31,000 players competed.
