After a decision by the Hoover City Schools pushed two games from Wednesday to Saturday to start the Metro Tournament, play was pushed back again Saturday, as Hoover High School has closed its field for Saturday, according to Mountain Brook head coach Joe Webb. Webb, the president of the Alabama High School Soccer Coaches Association, updated the schedule late Friday night and revised it Saturday.
Wednesday’s make up games, scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday were been moved to 11 a.m. Oak Mountain traveled to Spain Park, beating the Jags, 4-0, while Briarwood beat Indian Springs, 1-0, at Pelham High School instead of at Hoover as originally scheduled.
The change in times pushed the semifinals for the A Division back instead of being played at 1 p.m. John Carroll will play Mountain Brook at 3 p.m., followed by the B Division Championship at 5 p.m. between Chelsea and Pinson Valley and the A Division semifinal between Oak Mountain and Briarwood at 7 p.m. Webb said the change will push the A Division final to another day instead of playing at 7 as the updated schedule said on Wednesday.
All games on Saturday will be played at Pelham High School.
