UM tennis drops GSC home opener

The University of Montevallo tennis team (9-8, 0-3 GSC East) dropped its Gulf South Conference home opener to the University of West Alabama (9-12, 1-2 GSC East), 6-1, Wednesday. Freshman Ashlyn Bolton and sophomore Kelley Vaughn picked up the lone win for the Falcons taking the No. 3 doubles 8-4.
Freshman Helene Nordgreen and junior Kristi Kelly put up an impressive fight in the No. 2 double match taking it to a tiebreak and falling 10-7 in the extra set.
The Falcons will return to the court on Sunday, April 5 at 3 p.m. as they host the University of North Alabama in GSC East Division play.
