Montevallo Youth Baseball recaps April 6

The Thundering Herd beat the first place Tigers 14-13 Monday evening as games went late into the bitter cold night. The narrow win nestles the Herd into second place of the rookie division.

Eve Delawder, Brady Baugh and Wesley Burdette all had triples in the loss for the Tigers. Brewer Smith and Peanut Purnell both went 5-for-5 at the plate. Michael Sommers, Logan Snipes, Matt McComb and Nathan Moore knocked in two RBIs each for the Tigers.

Jaden Waldrop, Jeremy Holsomback, Jimmy Pintaro, Timothy Mims, Caleb Johnson, Melvin Craig, Alyssa Craig and Nathan Akins all contributed to the team’s effort win for the Thundering Herd. As did Eli Louvorn and Taven Dubose.

In other games:

The rookie Bulldogs defeated the Panthers, 16-14, to earn their third victory of the season.

The Montevallo Trojans came from behind to beat the Calera Indians, 9-5.

The Montevallo Gators defeated the Calera A’s, 13-8.

The Montevallo Bulldogs beat the Calera Cubs, 9-8.
