Funeral service for Frank Ray Walton, age 84, of Sterrett, will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2009, at Prospect Baptist Church (Hwy 51). Burial will follow at Prospect Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009, at the funeral home.
Mr. Walton, who passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at a local nursing home, was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Shelby County. He retired from Wimberly and Thomas Hardware after 40 years of service. He was a deacon at Prospect Baptist, veteran of WW II and survivor of the “Battle of the Bulge”.
He is survived by his wife, Etta Onzelle Walton; sister, Willie Mabel Walton and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
