Martha Carol Matthews Connell

Martha Carol Matthews Connell, age 83, died April 21, 2009, at Summerhill Nursing Home after a long illness. Mrs. Connell was born in Fort Valley, Ga. in 1926, the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Matthews. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 1948 with a degree in Library Science. Mrs. Connell was the wife of the late professor Dr. James F.L. Connell, PHD and a long time resident of Montevallo. Her hobbies included painting and flower arranging.
Mrs. Connell is survived by one son, James J.C. O’Connell of Providence, Utah and two sisters, Ann M. Houser of Perry and Nina R. Boley of Atlanta.
A graveside memorial service will be held for her Friday, April 24, 2009, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, Ga. at 11 a.m. The Rev. LeAnn Houser will officiate.
