Shelby County High School alumni of all ages will gather Saturday, May 9 for an all-class reunion.

The get-together will be from 6-11 p.m. at the Shelby County Courthouse overflow parking lot on College Street.

All Shelby County alumni, as well as family and friends, are invited.

Local musicians will play the first hour. After that, a D.J. will take over, playing dance and other requested music through the night.

“We just want everybody to come out and have a good time,” said Mayor Allan Lowe, Class of 1983.

The event will mark the school’s second all-class reunion. The inaugural reunion was held in August, but organizers moved to event to May this year, hoping for cooler temperatures.

“We hope to double our attendance this year,” said Shelia Finley, who graduated with Lowe. “It was a lot of fun last year. Everybody knows everybody around here.”

Finley estimates 175 people attended last year, which was held on Main Street near the Old Shelby County Courthouse.

Organizers encourage alumni to bring food, soft drinks, tables and ice … and themselves if nothing else.
