The sixth suspect charged in the brutal slayings of five men at North Shelby County apartment pleaded not guilty to two counts of capital murder Wednesday.

Torre Jovan Gholston, 28, of Birmingham, entered his plea before Circuit Judge Dan Reeves. He is being held without bond in the Shelby County Jail.

Gholston was charged with capital murder in February. Authorities say the August 2008 slayings at Cahaba Lakes Apartments off U.S. Highway 280 were revenge killings for more than $400,000 in missing drug cartel money.

The remaining five suspects pleaded not guilty to capital murder charges last November. No trial date has been set.
