Weather service confirms two Sunday tornadoes

The National Weather confirms two small tornadoes touched down Sunday in Shelby County.
The more powerful twister touched down along Shelby County 470 at 2:03 p.m. and moved northeast, knocking down and uprooting trees. The storm lifted after crossing over Highway 25 just north of Dunnavant at 2:05 p.m..
The tornado ranked as an EF-1, packing winds between 90-100 miles per hour. The tornado stayed on the ground for 1.43 miles and had a damage path 300 yards wide.
The second tornado touched down at 1:54 p.m. in the Brook Highland community along Alabama 119.
Numerous trees were uprooted in the storm and at least 20 homes suffered roof damage, mostly loss of shingles.
The tornado was classified as an EF-0. The tornado was on the ground for half a mile. Estimated peak winds were at 75 mph.
