Sheriff Chris Curry hopes a new Web site will serve as a one-stop shop for people wanting information about the sheriff’s office.

Curry unveiled MyShelbySO.com to business leaders during the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday.

“It is going to be a tremendous asset,” said Curry. “If you want to know what the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is doing, we are accessible to each and every one of you.”

The site can be accessed by going to shelbyso.com and clicking the link on the top left hand corner of the page.

The sheriff’s office designed the site to provide one Web page that answers commonly asked questions.

Curry said residents demand “good information and access to information quickly.”

“We are in a very safe community,” Curry said. “We have an obligation to keep it that way.”

The site features a dispatch log that shows where officers are currently dispatched and where they have been in the past 24 hours.

Shelby County crimes are also posted on a daily basis. Visitors can sort crimes by type, date and location.

“To my knowledge, we’re the first law enforcement agency in the state to make this available to the public,” Curry said.

The site includes information about inmates at the Shelby County Jail, unsolved crimes and the county’s most wanted fugitives as well as a link to report criminal activity.

The site also features a contact page, information for the media, a lost and abandoned property list and a customer satisfaction survey.
