A Vincent woman is being held in the Hoover City Jail for allegedly sending e-mails about a fake assault.

Jamica Deandra Willis, 26, was arrested Monday and charged with making a false report to law enforcement, said Hoover Police Capt. Jim Coker. Willis is being held on $1,000 bond.

Hoover Police investigated an e-mail that circulated last week about an assault at a business on John Hawkins Parkway. Coker said the investigation revealed there was no assault.

Coker commends concerned citizens who called the department to verify if the assault had occurred.

“These people are a good example of being responsible members of the community,” he said.
