Michael McGaughy Sr.

Michael Edward McGaughy Sr., 61, of Montevallo died Friday, May 8, 2009.
He was a retired police officer and worked with several police departments in Shelby County, as well as the city of Anniston.
He held numerous certifications including NRA and FBI Firearms Instructor. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the F.O.P., a veteran of Vietnam and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. McGaughy is survived by his son, Michael E. “Mike” (Rhonda) McGaughy of Montevallo; sister, Judy (Lonnie) Thompson of Montevallo; brother, Doug (Terri) McGaughy of Calera; and grandson, Michael Cameron McGaughy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Judson McGaughy Jr.
Visitation was held Monday, May 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel Montevallo. Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with the Revv Todd Burr officiating. Burial followed at Montevallo Cemetery.
