Montevallo’s Future Farmers of America chapter has taught Keith Lovelady how to be a jack-of-all-trades.

From land judging to gardening, mechanics to woodworking, the 18-year-old has learned how to do it all through FFA.

Lovelady was president of Montevallo chapter, one of the most active in the state. He also served as sentinel his junior year.

“I do lead the chapter, but it’s not just a one person thing,” Lovelady said. “It’s more about working together.”

Lovelady and other FFA officers have planned various events throughout the year from Farm Days in February to this month’s banquet.

The MHS valedictorian also helped with various fundraisers, putting his skills to use growing flowers and produce for the FFA’s annual plant sale.

Lovelady is also active in National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta math honor society.

He also helps lead a devotion called “First Priority” every Thursday and attends Wilton Baptist Church

After high school, Lovelady plans to attend the University of Montevallo and major in business.

One day he hopes to balance the books for his father’s car shop, Lovelady Automotive Service Center in Pelham.

Lovelady is the son of Scott and Marlene Lovelady.
