Josh Williams and Brand Lovelady took home the $1,000 cash prize after winning the Calera Elementary School inaugural fishing tournament at Besswax Landing on Lay Lake.

Forty-one boats launched for the competition. Sponsors of the tournamnet were McCrory Building Col, LaFarge – Roberta Plant and Starbridge Construction.

Also helping organize the event was BASS Elite Series pro angler Keith Phillips and Willie Adams with Momar Supplies. Other volunteers were John Kubas, Blake Sexton, Joni Colmer, Kimberly Coker and Renee Bingham.

The big fish prize of $400 went to David McCurdy and Chris Davison, who also took home $650 for a third-place finish. Tony Harris and Glenn Marcus took home $850 for second place and Wesley Duncan and Glenn Lee took home $450 for fourth place.
