Chelsea High School held its fifth–annual Academic Banquet on May 5 to honor students with a 3.75 GPA. This year, 49 students were honored. Seniors received an academic letter and juniors received a pen.

Each valedictorian also honored the teacher who had made the most impact on their educational lives with a Golden Apple Award. Ryan Flamerich honored Coach Ryan Adams; Sara Smith and Jacob Dinwiddie honored Nancy Stroup; Mariam Yousif honored Kim Bailey; Courtney Dunkerley honored Keith Lusco; Mieke Groothuizen honored Cherly Miller; Nathaniel Gowins honored Cherry Moody; Zach Evans honored Mary Hallman.
